Diatomaceaous Earth (food grade) 100g

Also known as Organic Fossil Shell Powder, our Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is graded food safe for human consumption. 
 
What is it?  A natural mineral, this DE comes from soft, sedimentary rock made from the fossilized remains of microscopic algae in freshwater lakes in QLD.  No chemicals are used in production, it is simply harvested, sun-dried and finely milled (to a consistency similar to milk powder) to dissolve easily in liquid. 
 
What's it for?  DE is a great supplementary source of silica; an important component of ligaments, cartilage, and muscles, and contains a number of essential minerals, most notably magnesium, calcium & iron.  DE is also a gentle abrasive that's also highly absorbent.
Our family takes DE for gut health as a cleanser to help remove toxins, parasites & heavy metals from our intestinal tracts.  We find detoxing the body & clearing the system of unnecessary waste also improves our digestive functions.
We use it in our home-made toothpaste as a natural abrasive.
The mineral Silica is essential to the formation of cartilege & collagen in your body, and anecdotal reports also suggest consumption of DE can also help strengthen healthy bones, skin, hair & nails.
